May I have June 12th please? The moon is in Sagittarius that day, ruler of
long journeys and within sight of the Full Moon on Flag Day. (but I didn't
want to take someone else's date).
Ryan's journal has been delightful and awesome to read. This is a virtual
hike for me as I could NEVER spend time in the conditions in which Ryan's
reveling. I'm a tender foot through and through. I admire him and Wanda and
all the other through hikers so much--not Gods, mind you, just admiration.
I keep envisioning a little green turtle carrying an umbrella. . .

Gwen & I believe he will be planning arrival in concert with the moon and seasonal change. The only appropriate date would be the Solstice on June 21st.
We have come this conclusion after completing his "Walking Tour of San Luis Obispo" and his tick infested "Camelot Series". While the first was mentally frustrating the second was pure physical torture from dodging poison oak to picking off hundreds of ticks. Strange as it may seem we saw no Rattlesnakes. Don & Gwen

You aren't the only one.
I figured that the guy walks fast(has been known to pull a 20 miler
for a box in one day and then hunt down other boxes), and he is
young. I said June 10 and it looks like he ain't a gone a make it
unless he slackpacks big time.

Even if Ryan doesn't make it to Harpers Ferry because the AT creek
swept him away you should still plan to make the trip. My kids loved
the AT walk over the Potomac. The Little Ponderosa B.B.Q, which
claims to be a historic railroad car, makes great pork B.B.Q
sandwiches. Now, if you just want to eat dessert for lunch then there
is a shop close to the B.B.Q place that sells soft ice cream. Have
fun!

Not unless he grows Wanda Wings and turns into Mercury.
That's one of the reason's I'm closing the post on the 11th. He
is getting close and it wouldn't be fair to those that predicted a
while ago. Last minute predictions are too edgy! Heck, I predicted
the 13th. I never win either. It's just fun to see who will come the
closest.
